The Affordable Care Act is Still Under Attack

After 8 years, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is still under attack by many of our representatives in Washington. Some are home-grown New Yorkers that have assaulted the values or their own state.

The loss of the ACA will have a devastating effect on New York — and that is why we continue fighting to protect our care.

Without the ACA, 50-million seniors will lose their at-home care and nursing home coverage, women’s health services will be defunded and $400-milion will be stripped away from low-income New Yorkers, and insurance premiums will skyrocket.

Representatives like Congresswoman Claudia Tenney have ignored the cries of the people they serve, while Representatives like Congressman John Katko vote to protect our health care one day and support stripping it another.

Health care is a human right, not a luxury. We should not have to cut citizens health services behind the greed of lawmaking Republicans in Washington. This is not about what makes money, this is about what is morally right.

We must continue to calling on our representatives to do what it right and show compassion.

Being a New Yorker is tough, and we’re tough enough not to give up on the livelihood of our neighbors.
